Rescue From The Sea
I walked out on the beach
To watch the waves gently roll
I find I’m like the tide
High and then I’m low
Sometimes I feel I’m drifting
Hopeless on the sea
At the mercy of the Water
To where it will carry me
Sometimes I stand strong
Like a lighthouse on the land
Other times I’m tossed about
Like many grains of sand
At times the storm clouds threaten
Sometimes my skies are blue
But then the rain comes pouring down
And there’s nothing I can do
Yet in my darkest hour
While I was lost at sea
The captain of the ship
Came to rescue me
While I was sinking in the depth
He reached out his mighty hand
Pulled me from the Water
And set my feet upon dry land
Now Jesus is the captain
And the world is the sea
The cross is the ship he sailed
The day he rescued me
He’ll forever be my captain
And I’ll be in his command
And we’ll sail the sea together
Until I reach the promise land
